WHO’S WHO


HARRY MAYRONNE (Composer /co-producer of Waiting Around). Credits include: Lana in Love (Composer/ Canadian film); Musical Director for the Big Easy Awards. In Berlin he has appeared at  Bar Jeder Vernunft with the Pfister Sisters and at the Berliner Ensemble with Nina Hagen (with his self-made marionette of Bertolt Brecht). Locally he is part of Hot Stuff! with Becky Allen and Chris Wecklein and, as a puppeteer,  a variety of Burlesque shows. He rcently  worked with legendary film actress Mink Stole in her cabaret act in New Orleans, and was Musical Director for the international Boswell Sisters Revue. This season he will again be pianist  for Caroling in Jackson Square.

New Yorker CHRIS WECKLEIN (Actor/Co-producer) was an original cast member of The Black & White Blues (the original title of Waiting Around), as well as co-producer of the NYC  production. Special engagements include male vocalist for Caroling in Jackson in Square and Hot Stuff! With Becky Allen and Harry Mayronne. For his performance as Max Bialistock in JPAS’ The Producers, he received a Storer Boone, Ambie, and the JPAS Outstanding Actor Award. Other roles include Uncle Max in JPAS’s production of The Sound of Music, and Mr. Peachum in the acclaimed production of The Threepenny Opera. Coming up: Chris is co-writing and directing Does Anyone Still Wear a Hat?, a tribute to Elaine Stritch. The show will be part of the New Orleans Fringe Festival.

New Orleans native DARCY MALONE (Actor) has performed and recorded with great local musicians such as her father Dave Malone and The Radiators, The Pfister Sisters (her mother’s original group), Theresa Andersson, and Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes. She fronts her own band, The Tangle, with husband Chris, and sings lead in N.O.Beatles cover band The Walrus. Waiting Around marks her return to musical theatre. A warm thank you to the cast and Harry for reminding her why she loves this so much. Thanks also  to her family, friends, and of course, her husband, for  their  love and support.


BOB EDES, JR. (Actor), a  multiple Big Easy Award winner (Equus, I am My Own Wife, Miss Gulch Returns, among others), and their 2010 Theatre Person of the Year, is glad to return to Waiting Around, having been a part of its many successful years at Le Chat Noir, as well as its off-Broadway run. Other stage credits include: La cage aux Folles, Sunset Boulevard, November, A Truckload of Ink,  Film/TV: Treme, Hide, Love & Marriage, Common Law, Varla Jean & the Mushroom Heads.


ALLEE PECK (Actor and graduate of NSU of Louisiana  with a Concentration in Musical Theatre), is beyond excited to be part of Waiting Around. Last seen in JPAS’s Blueberry Hill. Nominated for a BIG EASY for the role Maggie Jones in Rivertown Theaters’ 42nd Street.  Other shows include: See ‘Em On Stage’s Zanna Don’t!, JPAS’s Murder at Café Noir and Avenue Q , Harms Way Theatre’s Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, and Rivertown’s Rep’s The Marvelous Wonderettes . Works regularly with Scott Sauber on several Overall Pro shows in the Metro school area. Up next: A Christmas Carol at Rivertown Theater and Ain’t Got No Home at JPAS.  Thanks to Chris and Harry for this opportunity; also her family and friends for their constant love and support.


Jason Kirkpatrick has a BA in Drama Communications from The University of New Orleans. He has been seen on New Orleans Stages at Southern Rep, JPAS, Tulane Shakespeare Festival, Harrah’s Casino, Rivertown Rep, NOCCA Stage Co. Insideout Productions and the NOLA Project. He has received the 2009 big Easy, Storer Boone, and Marquee awards for Best Supporting Actor. He was last seen In NOCCA Stage Company’s The Trip to Bountiful, and in the NOLA Project’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Almost an Evening.



Big Easy and Marquee Award winning actress, Tracey E. Collins has been active in New Orleans radio and for more than 30 years (more than 60 theatrical productions on more than 20 stages). Recent: Carmen Bernstein in Curtains at Rivertown Rep. Many thanks to Harry, Chris, Amanda, Jason and Darcy for this incredible experience and the unsurpassable camaraderie. Thanks to Monica, AJ, Su and Dennis, who contributed so much to our success. And finally to Niki and Danny for their love and support.  Her performance is dedicated to her mom, Bobbie, whose love, encouragement and enthusiasm nurtured the performer you see tonight., An active participant and avid fan of theatre, Miss Bobbie passed last year.



A.J. Allegra  is proud to be a part of the Waiting Around staff as assistant director.  His previous directing credits include Almost an Evening and Assassins for The NOLA Project company in which he also serves as Artistic Director.  Additionally he has directed 'The Four of Us' (Southern Rep @Le Chat), {title of show] and Damn Yankees (Le Petit).  For 'Assassins' he won the Big Easy Award for Best Director of a Musical.  Thanks to Mandy, Harry and the cast.  Love to Casie.


Cecile Casey Covert is one of New Orleans’ most sought after designers, having created and executed inimitable works for shows at the Shakespeare Festival at Tulane, Southern Rep, Dog & Pony Theatre, Le Petit Theatre, the NOLA Project, and for Ricky Graham and Varla Jean Merman. Her many accolades include several Gambit Big Easy Awards for costume  design. Her theatrical career began more than a generation ago at the Children’s Corner of Le Petit Theatre. Cecile is also an in-demand makeup artist for Mardi Gras families. She and her brother, Jack Casey, have owned and managed Casey’s Snowballs in Metairie for more than 40 years.


Amanda Zirkenbach is a Big Easy, Marquis and Ambie Award winning performer who recently received a third Storer Boone Award for her portrayal of Lady MacDuff in The Shakespeare Festival at Tulane’s (SFT) production of Macbeth. A graduate of the International Cabaret Conference at Yale, She also co-wrote, choreographed and co-starred in Ricky Graham’s 2011 Renew Revue at Le Chat Noir. She can be seen every month at Southern Rep in New Orleans only ongoing live comedic soap opera Debauchery and is currently playing the role of Maria in SFT’s production of Twelfth Night. Catch her July 29th and 30th at NOCCA in The Ricky Graham Show. This one’s for you, dad.


Monica Mazzaro (Stage Manager/Seamstress) attended Western Illinois University as a Theatre Major with an emphasis in Costume Design but thoroughly enjoys stage managing, acting, and directing.  She is a Lifetime Member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1592, volunteers for the American Red Cross and AmeriCorps Alum. Monica was Officially Commended by THE DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY 2006 and a recipient of The President’s Call to Service Award 2005. Monica  recently served as stage manager for  the Allways Lounge production of Brecht/Weill’s Happy End. She has been  Stage Manager for Waiting Around since 2011. Monica  also creates the costumes for Harry Mayronne’s marionettes, including characters such as Nina Hagen, Mink Stole, and John Waters. 


Su Gonczy is basically a native of New Orleans considering she moved here from California 25 years ago! Before coming to New Orleans Su had many other lives including one in radio. After discovering show biz and the Moulin Rouge, she worked for years with Ricky Graham and Becky Allen doing their tech, costumes, wigs and harmonies. That led to a stints as Wig Designer ( Where the Girls Were ) and Costumer (favorite two shows to costume: The 3 Penny Opera at Le Petit and Greater Tuna, everywhere!) Her work as Stage Manager for the producing group All Kinds Of Theatre led her to Barbara Motley’s doorstep and Su’s been on board at Le Chat since it’s opening in 1999.


Ricky Graham has written and directed And the Ball and All, Our Class Reunion, Out Da Box!; When Ya Smilin, At the Club Toot Sweet, as well as The Black and White Blues and Hollywood Heaven which were both premiered at Le Chat Noir.
